Mikuri-ga-ike of Tateyama. Although it is already mid-summer, because of its high altitude, there is still snow on the mountain.

If you climb up this flight of stairs, you will reach the beautiful Mikuri-ga-ike (a crater that you will see in the next post). But if you go the other way, down you will reach the "hell's valley". More on hell's valley in the coming posts.
